Fairfield Halls, Croydon's premier entertainment and conference venue since 1962, closed its doors on Friday. Today, community based charity Fairfield (Croydon) Limited, which operated the venue, went into administration. The Joint Administrators, Chris Herron and Nicky Fisher of Herron Fisher, will now deal with the remaining assets and creditors of the charity to ensure the best results for all involved in a difficult and emotional situation. Despite closure of the venue, we are looking for a buyer for any part of the business that can be salvaged.
Congratulations to Lauren Matlock on passing her Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration.
This long standing charity, established in 1896, is relaunching on 16 June. We were appointed Administrators of the Settlement in 2012, but we were able to repay all of its creditors in full and save the company. After a period lying fallow, the Settlement is open for business once again and aims to provide grants for local charitable activities. This is a great example of the positive work done in the community by Insolvency Practitioners.
